In my work and conversations with clients, I often encounter a deeply rooted belief: \u201cI need to be \u2018fixed\u2019 first before I can enter a relationship.\u201d<\/em> Many believe that they must heal all their wounds and resolve every subconscious pattern on their own, in complete isolation, before they can even deserve the love of someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is the trap of perfection that keeps us in a constant wait for life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People without relationships don't really exist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the great researchers in the field of human psychology and attachment theory \u2013 from Freud, Jung, Bowlby, Ainsworth, Rogers to Winnicott \u2013 have come to the same key conclusion: humans are relational beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The belief that we must be completely \u201cwhole\u201d before entering a relationship denies our basic biology. The truth is that some parts of us simply cannot heal in isolation. These parts only truly heal when we are loved properly, by someone who accepts us for who we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healing these depths does not happen before<\/em> relationships. It happens inside<\/em> him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A safe relationship as a regulator of the nervous system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar to breaking habits (where we are taught to fight against ourselves and our biology), in relationships, society teaches us that we must be \u201cflawless\u201d before someone will accept us. However, your nervous system needs a sense of safety to deeply calm and transform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A safe and accepting relationship acts as a space in which our nervous system can finally relax. This is the environment where we often truly discover what needs healing. So a relationship is not just a reward for \u201cgetting better,\u201d and it is certainly not something we should wait in a waiting room for until we are perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relationships don't solve everything (and you're not a project)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, this doesn't mean that a relationship solves everything. It doesn't mean that you can enter it as an "unfinished project" and expect your partner to magically "fix" you or take on the burden of your subconscious patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it means letting go of shame and the belief that you are not enough for love as you are right now. It means that you can be in the process of personal growth and still be safely loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if subconscious patterns prevent you from even accepting a relationship?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you find that powerful subconscious patterns are holding you back from entering relationships\u2014fear of rejection, feeling like you\u2019re \u201cnot enough,\u201d or a distrust that\u2019s keeping you from moving forward\u2014it\u2019s time to change from the inside out. Therapy can help you calm your nervous system and break these protective patterns. Not to make you \u201cperfect,\u201d but to allow yourself to be seen and loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your feelings are not a mistake. And you are not too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
